Welcome

For over 50 years, the Advocacy Resource Center-Macon (ARC) has worked to improve the quality of life of individuals with developmental disabilities in the middle Georgia area. We are a nonprofit (501-c-3) agency and proud to be part of the United Way of Central Georgia. The agency is accredited by The Council on Quality and Leadership (CQL), which means that our programs, our activities, our staff, and our overall philosophy are driven by a “Person Centered” planning approach. Person centered planning is driven by the philosophy that individuals make their own choices about how they live their lives.

The ARC believes that all people should have the opportunity to experience fulfillment in their lives. We believe that lives are enriched by services that provide advocacy and support according to an individual’s strengths, needs, abilities, and preferences. These beliefs are stated in more detail in our Mission Statement and Philosophy.

In 2006, the ARC board established an endowment fund to ensure the future growth and stability of the agency. We invite your participation through membership, financial support to the endowment fund or individual programs, or specific donations of items needed by the agency or individuals served.

“I expect to pass through this world once; any good thing therefore that I can do, or any kindness that I can show to any fellow creature, let me do it now, let me not defer or neglect it for I shall not pass this way again.”  -Author Ettiene DeGrellet
